Sunset Summit: Screen Prints and Close Calls in Arizona

Updated: Apr 26

Fresh from our screen printing workshop, our team wasn't ready to call it a day just yet. Inspired by our newly crafted tees, we decided to catch the Arizona sunset from the best seat in the house—the peak of a nearby mountain. Little did we know, our creative day would quickly turn into an adventure-filled scramble against the setting sun.

Armed with our vibrant shirts and high spirits, we hit the trail. As the golden hour approached, it became clear we were racing against time. The usual path wouldn’t get us to the summit in time to capture the sunset—a perfect backdrop for our shirts. In a unanimous, if not slightly reckless decision, we veered off the marked trail, aiming straight for the peak.

The climb was tougher off the beaten path. Scrub and stones replaced smooth trails, and every step up the steep incline was a mix of excitement and exertion. But the view from the top? Absolutely worth it. As the sun dipped low, bathing the sky in fiery hues, our shirts, each a canvas of our personal creativity, really popped against the stunning backdrop. It was the perfect way to showcase our work, even if our breaths were as caught as the photos we snapped.

Just when we thought our adventure had peaked, the descent offered one more heart-stopping moment. Larry, leading the way back, came inches from stepping on a hidden beehive. A misstep there could have turned our creative expedition into a dash for medical help. Luckily, he noticed just in time, and we navigated safely back, the thrill of the close call adding an extra buzz to our conversations all the way home.

This day of art, adventure, and almost will stick with us as a vivid reminder of the beauty and dangers that come with stepping off the familiar path.
